      John 1,42; Eph 2,20

      (a) Matthew 16:18 = Peter (Greek petros) meaning „stone“, while petra (large stone, rock, rocks, mountains) stands for „rock“ here. The rock on which Christ builds his church, is himself (cf. 1 Cor. 10:14, which also says petra, as well as 1 Cor. 3:11). Peter was a lively stone in this building. (1 Peter 2:4-8) (Schlachter Bible 2000: text matching with the old Greek text)

Matt. 16,19 And I will give to you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

      * note: The ”taking upon the cross” is meant figuratively. As Yahshua has lived and was obedient to the Father, by following all his commandments, we shall also emulate and take upon us the inconveniences of the life that arise from the succession of Yahshua, our Master.
