feel a presence in his bedroom. It seemed the strongest near the left side of the bed near the window and the bookcase. It didn’t feel scary or threatening, just like someone was there watching me. Quinn had a big armchair in that area for awhile. One day I came to clean and the chair was gone. I found out that he had moved it upstairs. The room felt different and I didn’t sense the feeling of being watched anymore.
This made me realize that maybe the chair was associated with the presence. When I inquired about the chair, Quinn said it was his wife’s chair. She was the one that would always use it. Could it be part of her energy was left behind in one of her possessions? This has been known to happen in some cases.
Quinn’s daughter was visiting during the holidays last year. That night, she slept in his bedroom. She woke up in the middle of the night because she heard someone walk into the bedroom, go into the bathroom, and slam the door. She thought it was Quinn, so she just fell back to sleep. The next morning, she asked him if he went into the bathroom during the night. He acted surprised. He said he was sleeping upstairs in the spare bedroom and didn’t wake up at all in the middle of the night. He also said there is a bathroom upstairs so why would he walk downstairs and use that bathroom when there was another one only a few feet from where he was sleeping.
This incident happened around the time Quinn was having a memorial party for his wife.
I have gone to his house when no one was there and have taken many pictures and EVP recordings. I didn’t get any evidence of a haunting, but that doesn’t mean that there wasn’t anything there. It could just mean the spirit isn’t strong enough to appear or that it may choose not to. In both cases, the spirits, if any, could be Quinn’s deceased wife and son.
Sometimes, when the grieving person is under extreme stress or sadness, the spirit may only appear to them or another family member. The purpose is to try to ease their grief and pain and reassure them that they are ok and that everything will be alright. The spirit may also be lingering around and try to make contact so that they can say goodbye. This can be done in a dream, or the spirit may try to move an object to get attention such as controlling electrical devices like cell phones, radios, lights, etc.
During the writing of this book, I was reading a similar story about the dead trying to contact the living through electronic devices. This particular story I happen to be reading, coincidently, a few days after Paul passed away. Then I remembered the cell phone incident that I had. It just made me believe more that Paul was trying to contact me or Quinn to explain about his sudden tragic death.
We still don’t know what exactly happened that night. I also believe that Paul was trying to contact Quinn on his birthday. I think he may still be lingering around. However, I think his wife has moved on and passed over to the other side. His house feels different than it did a year ago. When I walk into the bedroom, I don’t feel that strong presence anymore. I’m sure his wife has watched over him for awhile, but now she sees that he is doing better. He still has people who love and care about him. He is not alone. I think that may have been the reason why she stayed behind, but now she has no need to.
I feel that Paul may still be lingering around and only makes contact when his father is under extreme stress. I hope he finds some peace and moves on to a higher spiritual plane.
A few weeks before the 1 year anniversary of Paul’s death, some strange occurrences started happening again at Quinn’s house.
I think this was also because Paul’s daughter was coming to visit her grandfather, Quinn. This is the last place that Paul’s daughter lived before he passed away. I think he was trying to visit her there.
The first weird thing that happened occurred at Jenna’s house. Her friend from Pennsylvania was visiting and staying in the spare room. This is the same room that I used to live in.
Jenna went to check in on her friend. She noticed her friend had fallen asleep with a baseball cap next to her head. When her friend woke up, Jenna asked her why did she have that hat? Her friend replied, “I don’t know, I thought you put it there.” They both shrugged it off until the next day.
Jenna’s friend said that the towel bar came off the wall and fell on the bathroom floor. The strange thing was that it was not loose. She had to unscrew the remaining pieces that where still in the wall in order to put the towel bar back up. Then when Jenna walked into another room next to the bathroom, she saw a red baseball cap lying in the middle of the floor. There was no way that it could have ended up there unless someone put it there. All her hats were hanging on hooks behind the door, which was firmly pressed against the wall.
The next day, we had a gathering at Quinn’s house. Jenna’s sister came over and told us she had a weird experience the night before. She fell asleep on the couch and suddenly woke up around 11:30pm. In the corner of her eye, she saw a misty figure walk into the kitchen and then disappear. She has lived there for over 30 years and she has never seen anything like that before. This happened around the same time Jenna saw the baseball cap on her floor.
Just as they were telling me the story, Jenna’s sister said she could smell nail polish remover. I had brought a small bag over with nail products inside. I thought the bottle probably fell out of the bag and spilled out all over the floor. However, when I went to clean it up, I noticed my bag was sitting upright on the chair. Inside was the bottle of nail polish remover, standing up straight and completely empty. It wasn’t even knocked over. I was amazed. How could it have leaked out without falling? It was if someone opened it, spilled it out, and then placed it neatly back into my bag.
It seemed to me that someone was trying to get our attention. I think it was Paul, letting us know he was there and probably was excited his daughter was coming to visit.
The last weird incident that happened was when his daughter arrived.
Jenna had just brought her to Quinn’s house. Everyone was gathered in the living room.
All of a sudden, Paul’s daughter heard what sounded like an electronic voice of a toy say hello. She turned around and asked Jenna where the sound was coming from. Jenna replied “I have no idea.” She was shocked. Everyone else in the room heard the voice also. However, their was no toy to be found.
I believe this was Paul trying to make some sort of contact with his daughter. He was doing whatever he could do to make his presence known.
