      The activity feed offers an overview of all events relevant to you so you can catch up on your notifications at a glance. You get a listing of missed calls, reactions, posts, @mentions, and more. After an absence or throughout the day, you can quickly get an update on the missed events and jump directly to the place where the action takes place.

      The red badge on the Activity icon indicates that you have missed notifications. The number in the badge indicates how many. You can find the activity feed in the app bar of every Microsoft Teams app version.

      Navigate the Activity Feed

Click Activity (Snapshot of notifications icon.) in the desktop app bar.

      

Scroll through your missed items and select the one you want to find out more about.

      

Click the item and take the appropriate action.

      TIP

      Can I use the activity feed to catch up with what happened?

      Yes, the activity feed offers a great summary of what happened and what is important to you. You can compare it to skimming through your Outlook inbox.

      Your activity feed lets you find important missed events more quickly by filtering the notification by the type that matches the event you’re most interested in. You can also search for keywords or names here.

In the activity feed, click Filter (Snapshot of filter icon.).

You can now click the notification type you are looking for.

      

Alternatively, you can filter for words and names.

      Set Your Status

Click your profile photo or initials in the top-right corner to open the Profile menu.

      

Click the first option in the now displayed menu. This is your current status.

Click the status you want to be displayed.

      

You can reset the status by clicking Reset status.

      

You can set the duration of your status by skipping steps 3 and 4. Click Duration and set your status and duration there.

      TIP

      Is there a shortcut I can use to set my status?

      Yes, you can use the search bar at the top of the Teams desktop app. There is a command for every status. You can set it to /busy, /brb, /away, /offline, /available, /dnd. Just type in the command and press Enter. Learn more about slash commands in Chapter 4.

      In addition to the overall status indicator, you can specify a status message. There is space for a few sentences that explain or supplement your current status. You can also use this message if you are planning for a longer absence or vacation.
