of astronomic spring season, and it starts from the 20th of March and lasts until the 24th of March. This holiday is celebrated throughout the whole Central Asian Republics, and also in Iran and Afghanistan. Maybe, it is the most popular holiday and celebration season for these countries, but the idea of it is only the beginning of spring, and, of course, it does not stay with the Religion of Islam. Maybe, in the Tajikistan Republic this holiday is called the Persian New Year which symbolizes the spring and nature. How often in this country, maybe, not everyone can celebrate these important moments with big celebrations, but, of course, beginning of spring is expected very much in this country, and all its population, of course, try to feel deeply these moments.

Yesterday I wrote about some education problems and how it is in the Tajikistan Republic, and maybe it was interesting to find out that literacy rate in this republic is much higher than in other countries of that region. Maybe, it is the same as in Uzbekistan or Kazakhstan, but, for certain, if you want to get, for example, information about some other countries, such as Afghanistan or Pakistan, or maybe also Iran – in those countries it is, of course, lower than in the Tajikistan Republic, maybe also the education ad literacy rate in this Asian Republic is very high, because according to statistic information of this Republic, 99.5% of population can read and write, and maybe they also have secondary school or higher education level… Thus, of course, it is also very necessary to understand that Tajikistan population can enter in all social life circles, such as jobs and other parts of occupation… So, of course, it’s no so, the true of some idea how to find any occupation of job to get necessary income, but, of course, it is so great to see that this Republic has a very high percent of education level and literacy rate which for the Central Asia is quite unbelievable, and that’s why Tajik population is just as well educated, as other nations in Asia.

Maybe, now it’s time to write something about the Tajik classic music, and just for a fun, just a few minutes ago I started to listen to some melodies and songs, as for a day, and some other feelings just started to appear which also may be found in some Tajik melodies and songs. If you started to be interested in the culture, religion, some life which goes on in this republic, maybe, some else kind of interests can be found, such as Tajik music. You know, it is something very amazing and so beautiful, and it is nice to listen a song which can give your soul so many new feelings when you also are feeling this in your heart, and maybe that also makes you to feel more deeply this culture and life in the Tajikistan Republic. So, the singer’s name is Ehson Madar, and it is also the Tajik music. If, probably, you had some time to listen, then, I think, you wouldn’t be sad hearing that song. That’s because music plays a very important role and is an integral part also of Tajikistan culture. So, there are, of course, very good melodies which can give you more ideas how to understand this people and this nation. There are some, of course, very important days what the Tajikistan Republic has, such as the Tajikistan Independence day which is celebrated each year on September 9, of course, not without traditional Tajik music. Maybe, it is very warm this day, as in summertime, because autumn in this country comes very late. The cold weather may come only just after some days in November. It is very interesting also to see how exactly this national holiday is celebrated which maybe gave freedom to Tajikistan nation and come-back to national and cultural ideas, to national traditions and other mostly Islamic things. But writing about Tajik national music, one can write also about other songs, the singer group known as Duxtar Dar Darva Non Stop – Tajik Dance Music. All of these melodies and songs try to pass some feelings and real vision of life, culture, and mentality of Tajik people… Try to understand and feel the East and the Religion of Islam, maybe also everyday life of many people which starts from early morning in this country; how often from sunrise people start to spend this long day with national Tajik music, and, I think, that in that Republic one can listen to only this national music, and, of, not Western music, maybe, because it is sometimes impossible to listen some foreign music in Islamic country, maybe, all the Tajik nation and its culture dislike it, and maybe the reason is that the most important month for not only the Tajik nation but also for other Muslim nations is, of course, the holy month of Ramadan which lasts four weeks and starts in the middle of June and must be a calm time when not so quiet activities, of course, are impossible. So maybe, the quietness is really necessary to be maintained during these days, the holy days for each Muslim person. It is so amazing to listen to this national Tajik music which is very melodious; and also, as you know, all these nations and cultures in the Central Asia countries have very long and so many beautiful songs. Just a half-year ago there were also some interests about the traditional music of the Turkmenistan Republic which national music is so easy understandable to your soul and hart. Music which can give you some best and most harmonic feelings. Music which is not so hard, and feelings from these melodies are just very harmonic and exalted. It would be great just only to buy some music of these Tajik singers, and maybe these moments can give some understanding about other sides of this life and can allow you to feel deeply the idea and melodies of life in this country. And, of course, it will be really great to feel deeply the East and Islam spirit or mentality, and to understand this life. Yes, also a few months ago I finished to read a book, not the Coran, but some other idea of that Holy Book of the religion of Islam – but, to tell the truth, how to understand the Coran? There were also some pages which were quite interesting to read, but it is certainly very difficult to understand some stories and ideas disclosed by this Holy Muslim or Islamic Book. How often this book was put in some place in a room, and, you know, it would be very great if you could put also some symbolic thing which can give you a vision of this Eastern Republic – and maybe it can be the Muslim Islamic magic lamp, you know, this symbolic traditional souvenir is available in many places not only in this country but also in other Islamic countries. To my mind, these traditional Islamic lamps, these souvenirs are very popular in the most of Muslim countries, and their cultures, of course, are impossible to imagine without this symbolic thing…

What probably music and some songs mean for you, as soul and heart sings, of course, only wanting to sing and listen to some melodies, songs all time which can tell you about your feelings, your heart, what it feels exactly in these moments; and for some nations in the Central Asia songs, music and melodies play also very important role in their life. Maybe some melodies which one can listen are also telling about some feelings and mentality of these nations, and maybe songs from Islam countries are also very impressive and beautiful in their voice, as other music from other countries… Well, it was very nice to listen to Turkish music when just a few days ago it was very interesting when music from that country of the Asia Minor Peninsula was on the air. There were so many melodies, but all of them were only Turkish culture songs, so, it was maybe funny and nice and easy to listen to Islamic song singing. Maybe, Tajikistan music also is not an exception.

To my opinion, I think that everyone in this Islam country often listens to music and can’t imagine his life and everyday life what God gives to him without music and melodies… Maybe it’s so great to go outside on streets and often listen to Islamic songs and melodies…

Music and its role in Islamic Countries; Tajikistan Music

      11 MAY 2015, MONDAY

Well, considering the thing that should be noted today, to my mind, it would be great to think about some product, such as bread, maybe, it’s not so easy to buy bread for the most of some parts of Tajik families, but this foodstuff, of course, is very popular and most important for all Tajikistan population. As often it has been written, there was information that bread and potatoes are the only dominating prices for the most of Tajikistan population, because this is the only menu they can afford, since the poorest segment of Tajik population cannot afford other food prices. Of course, there are also problems connected with buying of food for people with a low income level that doesn’t allow buy other products, but maybe the south area can contribute to daily menu
